Reconstruction Drawing Process: Stage 2

Stage 2 usually accounts for only 5%-20% of a reconstruction project. This stage involves the creation of an outline pencil draft through the transfer by hand of the relevant line work from a printout of the CAD wire-frame model onto cartridge paper using a light table. This line work is then developed into a pencil draft of the final drawing, concentrating on the detail of the buildings and other elements on the site. Little in the way of contextual detail is added at this stage, but the general composition is indicated.

The client then reviews the draft, either the original with the artist or a scanned and annotated version remotely, and some editing and redrawing usually follows.
